June 4 , 2009 - If you've been aching since February for the release of BCA Chapter 4, it may comfort you to know that it's now available in the BiteyCastle Academy. At a towering 76 pages, it's packed with exercises, illustrations, diagrams, working files, and even videos (!) While it's aimed at users of Flash CS3, the files are compatible with Flash 8. Aren't I nice?

Additionally I've appended an appendix to Chapter 3! It's all about optimising your brush strokes to reduce your Flash movie's file size, improve playability and keep your linework looking slick. Anyone who previously bought Chapter 3 gets the appendix free (contact me if you didn't get your email), but it's automatically included with all new chapter 3 purchases.

Demogorgon and the Gnome

My latest assignment was the new D&D 4th Edition cartoon, "Demogorgon and the Gnome", which I completed in record time using ToonBoom's incredible Animate Pro. There's also an interview with me on the Wizards website that talks a bit about the process and tools I use and other stuff.

Bad Drawing

This is another of my ToonBoom shorts. A few weeks before Animate Pro was available, I used ToonBoom Digital Pro for this one. It's the first of a brand new '30 shorts' project, but the chances of it being a daily thing are a little slim. This one took me a couple of days which I still find a little unbelievable considering the feature-quality results I got! I can't recommend Animate or Animate Pro highly enough.
